Remember we all were beginners, and our learning league members really do appreciate our help.

Reminder to Get a Sub
Members, please obtain subs if you are not going to be able to play on any given night/day of golf. If it is a last minute circumstance, try to find a sub (there are some subs that can golf at the last minute). Please let your partner know if you are not going to be golfing, it’s is unfair to her if you don’t.

Reminder to Post Scores
PLEASE POST ALL SCORES – HVWGC League play, casual play (on a rated course) and other leagues that you might be a member. If you do not have access to a computer, please let your league chair know and she will post for you. YOU ONLY HURT YOURSELF BY NOT POSTING ALL SCORES.

Rally for the Cure
The "closest to the pin" contest to raise money for Rally for the Cure to benefit breast cancer research will take place on each league during the week of 6/25. In 2007 the two winners were Stephanie Butler from the Pine View Learning league 8'4" and Paula Hoeft from the Hudson Mills league 8'9". The total contribution from HVWGC was $2.860, which is was the largest contribution we've made since becoming involved in the Rally and supporting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Let's try to break last year's record for percentage of members who participate in this event.

June Outing to Crystal Mountain

HVWGC Board of Directors
It is not too soon to be thinking about running for HVWGC's board of directors. Our board is composed of 9 members who serve for 3-year terms. Each year 3 directors are elected. Our board meets monthly, as well as during the off season. Currently our 9 board members golf on the following leagues: Leslie Park, Links of Whitmore Lake, Cattails, Pine View Caldwells, Eagle Crest Greens. It would be great to have ladies represent the Pine View Holmes, Hudson Mills and Stonebridge leagues on our board. It would also be helpful if ladies who have been HVWGC members for 5 or less years would consider running for the board to bring a newer member's perspective to club decisions. If you are interested in running for the board, contact a member of the current board before the end of July.
